Christine Wilson Sold at Auction Prices

Christine Wilson - My background is as an illustrator, and spans over 30 years. As an illustrator, my job was to put into a visual form (mostly) the ideas of other people designed for a specific purpose. Nothing wrong with that.

At some point, however, I wanted to express myself instead, so I gave myself permission to be selfish...really really selfish, and only paint what I wanted to paint. Easier said than done......

I have spent the last 15 or so years indulging myself, and painting anything that takes my fancy.

I have no distinct preference for style or subject. I enjoy abstract and am exploring the genre, I also love portraiture and landscape. I am moved by the desert, and have been fortunate to have spent time there.

Recently, however, I have begun to work on solid narrative themes. I am partly through a series on how to be female in today's society. I am presently working on a theme to do with water...and what it means to me. This will be a collaborative exhibition with a ceramicist living in my area on the Mid North Coast of NSW.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about me or any of my pieces.
