Born in Parker, Pennsylvania, Wilson moved to Kentucky in the 1870s, where he became a significant figure in the local art scene, particularly in Frankfort. He was also recognized for his poetry, with his most famous work being the patriotic poem *Remember the Maine*, published during the Spanish-American War. His artistic style combined elements of realism and romanticism, capturing the spirit of the natural world in the American South. Wilson's legacy remains influential in both art and literature.

Biography: Robert Burns Wilson was born in Pennsylvania and taught himself to paint. He settled in Frankfort, Kentucky by 1875 and is known for his paintings of Kentucky landscapes and his portraits. He also found success as a poet. His most famous poem is "Remember the Maine," based on the battle cry from America's entry into the Spanish-American War.
