        WINES, James.

        Est: $2,000 - $3,000

Expo '86 Vancouver Canada--Here and Now Highway. Pen-and-ink drawing on tracing paper with wash, signed with initials lower right, noted "SITE" [Wines's architectural firm] and titled lower left. Matted. A typed letter signed by James Wines to Alfred Heller confirms that the drawing is "the first and only study for the Canadian Expo project that includes the entire view of the project. This is the original conceptual drawing and all subsequent renderings and sketches focus on various sections of the pavilion and park." Designer of more than 150 architectural, interior design, public space, and landscape architecture projects for clients ranging from PepsiCo to Best Products to the cities of Hiroshima and Vienna, James Wines founded the interdisciplinary SITE Environmental Design in 1970. In addition to being the recipient of numerous awards, Wines has lectured and written extensively on architecture and environmental design.
