        Original Oil on Canvas "The Apple Tree" by well noted Washington DC artist John Winslow (b. 1938). A rare opportunity to purchase a original by an incredibly talented and well respected American Artist. Painted in the realism he is known for in 1980 in Center Sandwich, New Hampshire, where Mr. Winslow spent his summers. Measures 30"x23"x2 in frame. Weight 5 pds. John Winslow was born in 1938 in Washington DC. His mother was Marcella Comes Winslow, a painter and portraitist trained in the beaux arts tradition at the Carnegie Institute of Art in Pittsburgh. John Winslow graduated with a MFA from Yale School of Art, Yale University (Painting), and the following year 1964, he received the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award in Painting. This was followed over the years by numerous awards and grants including the Annual Awards Exhibition, The American Academy of Arts and Letters, New York and the Individual grant-in-aid in painting, The Commission on the Arts and Humanities of the District of Columbia, as well as several others. He was a Graduate Instructor in Drawing, Yale School of Art, Part-Time Instructor, The Corcoran School of Art, Professor of Art (Ordinary Professor since 1984), The Catholic University of America, Wash. DC, Emeritus Professor of Art, The Catholic University of America, Wash. DC and Visiting Professor in Painting, The University of Delaware, Newark DE. He has had many exhibitions both solo and group over the years at both galleries and major museums. His artistic achievements are too numerous to list all of them here but a few can be found on his webpage.
