      Theodor Blake Wirgman 1848 Löwen – 1925 London Farbige Pastellkreidezeichnung auf hellbraunen Papier. U.re. signiert "T.B. Wirgman". Verso ein Ausstellungs-Etikett der "Latin-British Exhibition, 1912. Fine Art Section", darauf in Tusche wohl eigenhändig künstlerbezeichnet "T. Blake Wirgman" sowie betitelt. Hinter Glas in einem goldfarbenen Schmuckrahmen mit Blattspitzenfries gerahmt. Theodor Blake Wirgman 1848 Löwen – 1925 London Studierte an der Royal Academy of Arts und wandte sich der Genre- und Historienmalerei zu, arbeitete aber auch als Porträtist für die Illustrierte The Graphic. 1892 trat er dem "The Arts Club" bei. Wirgman war Teil einer Gruppe von Avantgarde-Malern die den Stil Edward Burne-Jones'' und Simeon Solomons nachahmten. Diese Gruppe bestand aus Walter Crane, Robert Bateman, Harry Ellis Wooldridge und Edward Clifford. Sein Bruder war der Karikaturist Charles Wirgman.
