Août 1909' Foundry stamp ‚FONDERIE NAT.LE DES BRONZES J.PETERMANN St. Gilles Bruxelles' Diameter: 42.5 cm Good condition This bronze relief was realized by the Belgian artist Paul Wissaert. It was created in 1909, the same year the artist had his first exhibition at the Musée Moderne in Brussels. This piece obviously depicts the parents of the artist. Coins designed by Wissaert can be found in the coin cabinet of the Berlin National Museums. This patinated bronze medal is signed on the right with the dedication by the artist 'à mes chers Parents Paul Wissaert'. It is typographically marked '1884 5. Août 1909' on the lower right. Underneath the foundry stamp 'FONDERIE NAT.LE DES BRONZES J.PETERMANN St. Gilles Bruxelles' can be found. The plaque is in good condition. The patina is slightly rubbed in places and there are few scratch marks. The diameter of the piece is 42.5 cm. (amb) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
