Small ARCHIVE of the Dutch sculptor Dirk Wolbers, comprising i.a. over 100 drawings (nearly all black chalk en pencil, mainly figure studies, female and male nudes, but also some portraits etc., ±1906-1922), a sketchbook w. similar drawings (possibly dating from the artist's stay at Brussels, ±1910, orig. cl., obl. 4to), a portfolio w. drawings and annots. concerning lectures on anatomy at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten at Amsterdam (±1908), designs for a studio (1 drawing of the exterior and 2 large fold. plan/ profiles, all pen and ink) and ±50 orig. photographs, various (mainly smaller) sizes (mainly of sculptures, but also incl. a few of the sculptor in his studio and 2 group portraits). = Dirk Wolbers was educated as artist at the "Teekenschool voor de Werkende Stand" (Amst., 1905-1907), the "Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten" (Amst., 1907-1909) and at sculpture studio of Charles van der Stappen and Victor Rousseau. He was specialized in monumental sculptures.
