      FISCHER AM CHIEMSEE Öl auf Leinwand. 37,3 x 51,6 cm. Links unten signiert „J. Wopfner“. Auf der ruhigen Wasserfläche des Chiemsees sind drei Fischer mit einem Mädel damit beschäftigt, Fischernetze aus dem Wasser zu ziehen. Die Uferküste in der Ferne durch aufsteigende Wolken in diffuses Licht getaucht. Feine und helle Lichtstimmung mit changierenden Farben auf der Wasseroberfläche. Das Gemälde ist im Werkverzeichnis zu Joseph Wopfner unter der Nummer 723 erfasst und in den Schaffenszeitraum von 1920-1927 eingeordnet. Der Künstler war ein österreichischer Landschaftsmaler und Vertreter der Münchener Schule. Da er für seine Gemälde häufig Motive aus dem Chiemgau benutzte, wird er auch als Chiemseemaler bezeichnet.
