      WILLIAM WYATT [Australian, 1838 - 1872] Somewhere in the Hills 1862, ink wash on woven paper, 90mm x 160mm, signed and dated lower right, titled by the artist below the image. William Wyatt (Jr) was born in South Australia, the son of William Wyatt (Snr), surgeon, landowner and public servant (1804-86). A sketchbook by Wyatt (Jr) is held in the National Library of Australia. A handful of other works are also held in the State Libraries of NSW and SA. The image is probably a scene somewhere in the Adelaide Hills, a short distance from the young settlement of Adelaide.
