        YANG YANPING (b. 1934) China, dated 1984 68,3 x 38,7 cm Lotus in Winter. Ink and colors on paper, mounted as hanging scroll. Signature by the artist: „In the jia… year (1984) painted by Yanping“. Two seals of the artist: “Yang” etc. Collection of Peter Kellner (1940-2018) and Hanne-Marie Kellner (1943-2007) Yang Yanping was born in Nanjing and graduated in architecture from Qinghua University. She became the wife of the painter Zeng Shanqing and was member of Peking Academy of Painting. 1986 she was awarded Culture and Educational Exchange with China fellowship and settled in Stony Brook, New York, later moved to Port Jefferson. She has exhibited widely in US, Japan, Europe, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and is noted chiefly for her lotus paintings merging Chinese and Western techniques - Good condition Yang Yanping (geb. 1934) China, datiert 1984 68,3 x 38,7 cm Lotus im Winter.         China, not dated, 60.2 × 90.5. Ink and colours on paper. Signed, with a total of four seals of the artist. Born in Nanjing in 1934, Yang Yanping is one of the most distinguished contemporary ink artists of her generation. Having worked in the traditional mode of expressive painting (xie yi), she has developed techniques including crumpling the paper and soaking or pressing inked paper on a previously painted surface. Compositions of amorphous shapes suggest imagery landscapes: looming mountains, distant vistas, and shifting sand dunes made out of textures and brilliant colours. Formerly the property of the Dr. K. S. Lo Collection.
