    Yoshitsuna Utagawa, tätig um 1850-70 - A large triptych 'Bird's-eye view on Edo with fire brigades', Around 1860, woodcut in colours, 3 parts, overall 35,5 x 73,5 cm (Oban tate-e), sign.'Itosai Yoshitsuna ga', editor: Tsuta-ya Kichizo, censor's and date mark, the upper rim inscribed in German 'Zusammenkunft der Feuersleute am 4. Januar.' and 'Feuers-Leute'. Framed behind glass, unopened. - Bird's-eye views of the capital Edo are relatively rare. The present motif is a very detailled depiction of different fire brigades within the city. See another example in the coll. of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Oregon (inv. no. L2013:15.08a-c).
