His calligraphies can be seen within a number of temples located in Kuala Lumpur. 李占如先生的祖籍为广东白鹤山，笔名愚翁。他擅长吟诗作赋，同时也是马来西亚第一代书法家，被誉为大马书画界的先贤之一；留有其墨迹的牌匾亦可见于吉隆坡庙宇中。
