Welcome to Anderson's Art Auctions.

The newly opened Andersons Art Auctions (spring 2012) is the trading name of Andersons Auction Rooms Ltd – a long established Belfast auction room initially opened by Tommy Anderson in the late 1970’s. Andersons operated as a general auction room throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s mainly from our then large showroom in Linenhall Street, in central Belfast. Tommy Anderson was the first auctioneer in Ireland to introduce specialist sales in porcelain, art and coins. The auction rooms changed hands a few times before being acquired by the current proprietor and long time Belfast antique and art dealer Michael Flanagan in the mid 1990’s. Michael and two members of the current six person Andersons team have many years experience in the auction business. David Kearney the auctioneer and Ingrid McBratney have both been employed by Andersons Auction Rooms since the mid -1980’s – between the three of them, they have some 100 years experience in all aspects of the auction business. A decade ago and in response to a changed market place the company pursued interests in both the retail and wholesale of art mainly through their gallery space in North Belfast. It is with that current experience and in response to numerous requests from the art market that Andersons Auction Rooms re-enters the auction business, albeit as a specialist in art sales only. There is a clear need to respond to market demand in a more modern manner. With ten sales per year and payouts within four weeks, Andersons Art Auctions will resume the position of integrity and expertise gained in the marketplace over the last four decades.
