Established in 1979, Balclis proudly identifies as the premier Spanish auction house in the international marketplace, having auctioned over 200,000 antiques, jewelry selections, and fine works of art.

Each item auctioned through Balclis has been carefully selected and cataloged by its experienced team of professionals, who comprise an international body of knowledge in their contribution as educators, exhibition curators, and researchers. Balclis exhibits its varied collection of over 1,500 lots in five auctions annually, onsite in Barcelona, Spain, with each piece meticulously selected to satisfy the most superlative and eclectic of tastes. Balclis also boasts a robust online presence, having partnered with Invaluble.com for nearly 60 auctions, with 17 in 2014, alone. Balclis’ efforts continue to facilitate the growing international recognition and appreciation of Spain’s finest works of art.

Balclis has seen over 200 of its finest oeuvres featured in Spain’s most renowned collections, including the Museo Reina Sofía, the Museo del Prado, and the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. Balclis also partnered with the Spanish division of Harley-Davidson in 2010, auctioning a one-of-a-kind VRSCDX Night Rod, designed by Custo Barcelona, to benefit the San Juan de Dios charitable foundation, in its efforts to develop its children’s hospital, located in Sierra Leone.

Balclis offers the expertise of its team of specialists in the evaluation and appraisal of jewelry, antiques, and artwork. Balclis accepts submissions via email from individuals who wish to offer their items at auction, and requests photographs of the items in question. After a thorough appraisal of each item, an expert will contact the seller to propose the best avenue to pursue for sale at the auction. One may additionally make an appointment with Balclis for an onsite appraisal in Barcelona, where a head of department will evaluate each item, free of charge.
