THE LEADING AUCTION HOUSE IN VENEZUELA

From ancient times auctions have been the safest and most transparent way to sell different kinds of goods. This is a method of selling personal objects as well as real state properties in a public forum through an open and competitive bidding in which the offered goods are granted freely and without any pressure to the highest bidder. It is an open market where buyers and sellers harmoniously converge thus guaranteeing the correctness of the act.

The first institution founded in Venezuela with this only objective is Casa de Subastas Odalys. With more than a decade in the Venezuelan art market, there have been organized more than 160 successful auctions. We have sold more than 35,000 lots among which we can find works of art, antiquities, photographs, maps, books, furniture, automobiles and a diversity of collectible objects, with a sales effectiveness of over 80% in each of our sessions.

Our sales have raised a resonance without precedence in the world of the Venezuelan art for they have encouraged and brought up to date this field. It can be said that it has turned out to be a financial index as can be confirmed by the high amount of works of art sold. It is also a reference when it comes either to buy or to sell Venezuelan and Latin American Art.

This year we have gone beyond our frontiers with a main purpose: To extend and promote the Iberoamerican Modern and Contemporary Art internationally.

With this objective in mind, in January was founded Casa de Subastas Odalys S.L.U. in Madrid. This opening was characterized by a remarkable auction held on February 17th where there were offered a lot of works of many outstanding Latin American and European artists.

Latin America will also be included in the pursuing of the same goal and in October this year there will be held the first of our Latin American Art Sales in Bogotá – Colombia.

We would like to consider this fact as the beginning of what will hopefully become an open passage through which a lot of talented plastic artists, known and not yet well known, will have the opportunity to walk in their way towards universality.


AUCTIONS FOR EVERYONE

We have auctions for everyone around the year:
Our emblematic sale is the one of Venezuelan Masters. This includes the most important Painters and sculptors of our country.

In a yearly basis, we have a sale of Contemporary Art which offers the works of Venezuelan and Latin-American artists.

Another sale that is held every year is the one of Antiquities and Collectibles, where you can find from a very interesting piece of old furniture to the most conspicuous antiquity or some documents and books which form part of our history.

We have done sales of private collections, which have allowed us to offer heirs in a succession, a feasible, safe and quick way to sell their works of art and other goods.

The Photographs auctions represent an interesting alternative for new collectors, for it is a new form or artistic expression in our country.

We have recently started to sell used automobiles coming from private clients and companies which consign to us vehicles coming from fleets belonging to executives.

Each month there is a sale that we have called “The collector Auction” where we offer the most interesting works consigned throughout the month and it comprises works of art, photography, antiquities, collectibles, etc. It is a kind of general sale in which the perfectionist collector could find that odd object or that one of a kind work of art, difficult to find at very reasonable prices.
