Biography

Founded in 2017 by Samuel Hill, Elmwood’s is a small, boutique saleroom in Notting Hill, West London, specialising in jewellery, antiques, silver and contemporary design. We are Notting Hill’s only auction house and operate between our office and various gallery spaces in the area. Our smart locations and experienced staff staff allow us to offer you a bespoke, end to end service, no matter what you have to sell.

Over a dozen auctions are held annually, which are marketed across three online bidding platforms and a well established network of clients. This spans six continents and includes leading collectors, experienced dealers and fresh buyers alike, enabling us to ensure that your item, whatever it may be, is sold to its fullest potential.

Auctions are held online, with viewing taking place at the various gallery spaces we partner with across Notting Hill. Whilst not doing viewing and auctions in our gallery spaces, we are out around the country in search of the finest pieces we can find, or are open for valuations every Tuesday and Saturday at our office in Notting Hill.


Our Aim

Elmwood’s was founded with the aim of simplifying and modernising the auction process and making it accessible to everyone. The world of auctions can seen antiquated and complex, with many people reluctant to sell at auction due to the fee structure and many people reluctant to buy for fear they are the playground of the rich and elite.

Buying at auction should be as simple as buying at a shop, so why don’t more people do it, especially when you can find a diamond ring for a fifth of the price of a high street jeweller? We aim to make our auctions accessible to everyone, at every price point, and hope too, to encourage sellers with our simple single-fee structure, calculated as a percentage of the selling price, with no additional hidden costs for cataloguing, photography, insurance or marketing like most other auction houses.
