Biography

Tate Ward was set up by Nigel Shorthouse and Danny Herbert.

Nigel and Danny are passionate about art and the art business. We are a unique and innovative art business, looking to disrupt the established models of buying and selling . Tate Ward is a dedicated destination for art collectors and we are passionate about helping collectors source hard-to-find items.

Nigel has been in the Fine Art Auction world for over 20 years, most of which he spent at Christie's as a Business Director. During that time, Nigel worked with numerous departments on many strategic projects across the company.

Danny has been collecting Urban and Contemporary Art for many years. He has been involved in the art world buying first as a collector and then via his art advisory. Danny started the Urban art department at Chiswick Auctions and enjoyed considerable success in achieving over £1.3 Million worth of hammer in his first year. Danny makes the move from West to East London to carry on this work, Developing emerging artists and all aspects of the Tate Ward brand.
