PENA, Tonita, (American, 1893-1949): "Corn Dance", Gouache, 11 1/2" x 15", signed lower right, unframed. Tonita was the only woman in the group of talented early pueblo artists referred to as the San Ildefonso self-taught group which included noted artists as: Julian Martinez, Alfonso Roybal, etc.

Faint crease in upper mid margin, several faint spots in lower margin, crease in indians head on right, visible upon very close inspection.
