Below please find additional information about LUCIEN BONVALLET Antoine-Vital Cardeilhac founded in 1804 a company specialized in cutlery and flatware. Throughout the nineteenth century, the company had passed from father to son, with Armand-Edouard and Ernest then, and continued to successfully produce pieces highly inspired for most of them from ironwork models, richly ornamented with fine motifs. These works of varied forms and styles were all considered remarkable for their Chiselling. The Cardeilhac firm was then inevitably noticed in national and international exhibitions for the high quality of products available to the public and received numerous awards, such as the bronze medal in 1823, silver medals in 1827 and 1834 as well as at the famous 1867 Paris Universal Exhibition. They were finally awarded a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1878, giving the Cardeilhac company an unprecedented boom. Their MOST DESIRED and TALENTED SORT AFTER designer was LUCIEN BONVALLET - After more than a century of proven success in the great universal exhibitions, the famous silversmith Christofle took over Cardeilhac business in 1951. Lucien Bonvallet (1861-1919) was their MASTER designer. He exposed his works on Cardeilhac’s stand at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition, and at the Autumn Salon of 1919. Museology Many pieces made by Lucien Bonvallet et Cardeilhac are now displayed in the Orsay museum, in the Paris Decorative Arts museum, as well as in the Bouilhet-Christofle museum. IMPORTANT NOTE - Many of the pieces have be placed in frames to preserve them (with plastic used instead of glass) therefore it is up to the buyer should they want the pieces which are now in frames to be removed from the frames or to keep them in the frames - IF you would like the pieces which are framed - keep in mind not all have been framed just a sampling - then the cost of delivery would be more depending upon your destination) Please alert us at the end of the auction IF you would like these to be shipped framed or unframed) The owner felt it was much easier to handle and display the pieces framed rather then unframed - Framed the collection would be $295 to Europe / $395 to the United States ... Since plastic was used there is no fear of damage in the delivery process ... IF you have additional questions please do not hesitate to contact us ... Also ALL photos can be sent to you via whatsapp where we have photographed a MUCH LARGER portion of the collection - IF interested please provide us with your whatsapp number and we will send you aprox 140 photos many with more then one drawing attached ...
