Lot 242: 9 1/2 Weeks, 1986/Kim Basinger

A costume comprising: two pencil skirts of black wool, one labelled inside Jean Paul Gaultier, and a long-sleeved blouse of ivory silk, labelled inside Agnes b, Paris -- purchased for Kim Basinger as Elizabeth in the 1986 M.G.M. film 9 1/2 Weeks; accompanied by corresponding colour still of Kim Basinger wearing a similar costume with Mickey Rourke (printed later) -- 10x8in. The following sixteen lots have been donated by Kim Basinger to benefit PAWS - the Performing Animal Welfare Society.

The Performing Animal Welfare Society was founded in 1984 as a safe and humane home for abused, retired and surplus elephants, lions, bears and other captive wildlife. Former Hollywood animal trainer and author, Pat Derby, and co-founder, Ed Stewart, created two 130 acre sanctuaries in Northern California which provide the animals with a natural refuge. Currently, PAWS is constructing 2,300 acres of sanctuary in San Andreas, California. PAWS can continue the mission with the help and support of their generous donors. Thanks to Ms. Basinger's support, PAWS can continue to rescue animals and give them a peaceful and safe habitat.
