A BLUE AND WHITE 'FLORAL' JAR AND COVER

The ovoid body painted in graduated tones of cobalt blue with two wide bands with mirrored decoration of
ruyi lappets, hexagonal flowerhead cells, lotus and scrolls and a narrow wavy
ruyi-head border, all below a plain rounded shoulder with further similar bands at the neck that is mirrored on the domed cover and centered by an eight-petal flowerhead, a further scroll band above the rounded and spreading foot with paired edge, unglazed foot ring and a deeply cut slightly concave glazed base.


7 1/2in (19.2cm) high

Generally, in good condition, save for a small kiln glaze frit on one
ruyi-head petal, a small iron spot to the spreading foot and minute air-bubble pinpricks but mostly unobtrusive.
