米芾初名黻，後改芾，字元章，自署姓名米或為芊，時人號海嶽外史，又號鬻熊後人、火正後人。北宋書法家、畫家、書畫理論家，與蔡襄、蘇軾、黃庭堅合稱「宋四家」。能詩文，擅書畫，精鑒別，書畫自成一家，創立了「米點山水」。宋徽宗詔為書畫學博士，又稱「米襄陽」、「米南宮」。

趙孟頫，字子昂，號松雪道人，又號水晶宮道人、鷗波，中年曾署孟俯。南宋末至元初著名書法家、畫家、詩人，宋太祖趙匡胤十一世孫、秦王趙德芳嫡派子孫；其父趙與訔曾任南宋戶部侍郎兼知臨安府浙西安撫使。

祝允明字希哲，長洲（今江蘇吳縣）人，因長像奇特，而自嘲醜陋，又因右手有枝生手指，故自號枝山，世人稱為「祝京兆」，明代著名書法家。

胡完夫，宋代晉陵（今江蘇常州武進）人，與蘇軾同科進士。

董其昌，字玄宰，號思白、香光居士。明代書畫家。官至南京禮部尚書。董其昌擅畫山水，師法董源、巨然、黃公望、倪瓚，為「華亭畫派」傑出代表，兼有「顏骨趙姿」之美。其畫及畫論對明末清初畫壇影響甚大。
