finely painted with shipping panels, the can with 'before the wind. light breeze', a sailing boat next to a three masted schooner displaying the naval ensign, a similar boat to the rear, the saucer with 'a cutter before the wind' off a rocky headland, within chocolate brown borders, 14.5cm, crown, crossed batons and D marks in blue (2)

Sold in these rooms on 16 September 1987, lot 274, from a part tea and coffee service. By the family tradition of the vendor, the service was ordered by Quakers, hence the lack of gilding.
