A FABERGÉ IMPERIAL FOUR-COLOUR GOLD AND ENAMEL FRAME, WORKMASTER JOHAN VICTOR AARNE, ST PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1895 rounded rectangular form, the aperture within green translucent enamel on an engine-turned chevron ground, the white enamel striped border wrapped with vari-coloured gold flower sprays, ivory back, silver-gilt scroll strut, struck with workmaster's initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 56 and 88 standards, scratched inventory number 59808 height: 10.8cm, 4 1/4 in.

This object was a joint purchase by the Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, the Emperor billed on 11 August 1898 for half the total purchase price of 225 roubles.
