A German porcelain propaganda group by Martin Wiegand, of a young nurse with a wheelbarrow with three dolls dressed as soldiers, painted in colours, 15cm high, 13.5cm long, impressed marks 'Martin Wiegand MUNCHEN' and a monogram mark incorporating 'MUNCHEN MEISSEN', early 20th century Martin Wiegand (1867 - 1961) was a painter, sculptor and graphic artist who studied at the Dresden Art Academy and worked as a freelance artist from 1888. Between 1906 and 1908 he was the artistic director of the Royal Saxonian Porcelain Manufacturury at Meissen. From 1910 he lived in Munich and had a studio and a kiln in Nymphenburg. Martin Wiegand's ceramic works often present figures and groups from fairy-tales or mythology
