Item Overview

Description

A group of four resin pebble seats designed by Ben Barrell for the Cancer Research UK, Chelsea Garden the largest 102cm.; 40ins wide. Ben was delighted to be asked by Robert Myers to create Pebble Seats for the show garden as all his work is inspired by nature and the shapes created by its movements. Living in Cornwall, Ben has the ideal surroundings to create work which reflects the rhythm of the sea, the movement of creatures passing through the sea and the landscape of the Cornish coast. Ben typically designs large sculptural pieces and also specialises in creating outdoor sculptural seating... "The bench looks better every day. I sit on it every morning and I am astonished that I am actually sitting on a work of art." Melvyn Bragg. His work can be found at Goodwood Sculpture Park and in public spaces and private gardens.
