A JADE 'PAVILION' SEAL & AN ARCHAISTIC JADE FINIAL

Late Qing Dynasty

Under the sloping roof, the rectangular block perforated at waist for stringing, the bottom carved with four characters in seal script, the pale celadon stone mottled black and gray in areas; the finial carved with a
chi dragon in high relief, encircling a mountain peak above scrolling clouds, the underside perforated for attachment, the mottled green stone stained brown in areas. (2)


seal: 1 1/4in (3.2cm) high;
finial: 15/16in (2.4cm) high, 1 9/16 (4cm) wide

Minor surface pitting and wear. Old chips to corners. Stones altered to induce colors and textures for the appearance of antiquity.
