marked Faberg‚ and with the workmaster's mark of Karl Armfeldt, St. Petersburg, 1908-1917 Traditionally shaped, enclosing in the center, the Mother of God within a border of pearls flanked by St. Matthew on her right and St. Sophia on her left, with pearl finials, the wooden back with pencil inscription in Russian 'Blessing from an old friend, Z.Iu 21 August 1913' and a later pencil inscription below, from Princess Zinaida Yussupov, the front with the Roman number XXV, fully marked, in an original fitted case stamped 'Faberg‚, St. Petersburg, Moscow, London' with Imperial warrant 61/2in.
