A LEMON-YELLOW-GLAZED DOUBLE-GOURD VASE

19th century

Of elegant naturalistic form with rounded globular lower body and smaller upper bulb with waisted neck and slightly flaring rim, all under a thick lemon-yellow glaze with a very fine dense crackle, the yellow glaze continuing to the interior neck to a white-glazed interior, supported on a wedge-shaped unglazed foot ring with glazed base.


6 1/2in (16.5cm) high

Condition Report

A short kiln blemish to the neck rim (approx. 0.3cm) but unobtrusive. Some minute air bubble pinpricks to surface and minor kiln imperfections but again mostly unobtrusive. Some scratching to glaze at the foot and to the base.
