Katzbach, 1984. Stoneware. Slim vase with wrinkled wall. Brown-red glaze. Workshop's mark 'new cat', stamp 'Görge Hohlt', stamped '84'. H. 33 cm. - Comp. exhibition catalogue 'Werkstatt Hohlt', München, 1995. - Görge Hohlt ranks among the most important ceramists of the 20th cent. in Germany. After his assistance with the setting up of the 'Hohlt' workshop with his father Otto Hohlt he studied at the Academy in Munich under professor Toni Stadler und professor Franz Eska and was educated as a ceramic-engineer. 1965 he took over the workshop 'Hohlt' in Katzbach/Rott am Inn and developped with his brother Albrecht the typical 'Hohlt-glazes'.
