BY JEAN-FRANÇOIS DELANOY (FL. 1785-1793), MARKED, PARIS, 1789/92, WITH THE CHARGE AND DISCHARGE MARKS OF JEAN-FRANÇOIS KALENDRIN 1789-1792, LATER STRUCK WITH TWO FRENCH IMPORT MARKS FOR GOLD 1864-1893, THE ENAMELS IN THE MANNER OF JEAN COTEAU (C. 1739 - AFTER 1812)
circular box, the lid, sides and base inset with plaques enamelled in translucent blue with elaborate gold paillons with translucent green and red enamel of floral swags and vases surrounded with an opaque white margin, the lid centred with a painted cherub en grisaille, the base with painted vases, gold mount stamped with trailing foliage, tortoiseshell lining
