Joseph Moore senior is recorded as a Shipbuilder of Plymouth, Devon. His son, also Joseph, is recorded as a Doctor of Medicine practising in Middlesex.

William Corden (1797-1857), was born in Ashbourne in Derbyshire and worked for the Derby factory from 1811 to about 1825. On leaving Derby he set himself up as a portrait painter in London with some success, exhibiting at the Royal Academy for the first time in 1826.
