each surmounted by a stepped Gris Sainte Anne marble top, above a pair of cupboard doors, the interior fitted with two shelves, each angle with a lion's head mount, on bracket feet, the carcass stamped under the marble P. Roussel and with JME mark, the bronze mounts later and remounted, 80cm wide, 57cm deep, 88cm high (31" wide, 22" deep, 34.5" high). (2)

Pierre Roussel (1723-1782), maître in 1745, established his workshop in Paris and supplied furniture to the prince de Condé. He worked with the cabinet maker and dealer Pierre Migeon. Numerous pieces he executed can be seen in internationally renowned Museums such as the Louvre, Waddesdon Manor and the Metropolitan amongst others.
