Lot 397: A RARE AND FINE PAIR OF ITALIAN BAROQUE GILTWOOD AND PAINTED FIGURAL TORCHÈRES, IN THE MANNER OF FILIPPO PARODI, FIRST QUARTER 18TH CENTURY

none Filippo Parodi (1630-1701) was a well known Genoesebaroque sculptor and reached the peak of his career withthe exceptionally finely carved giltwood figural androckwork-formed pier mirror and console for the VillaDurazzo in Albisola. For a comparison to the aboveoffered lot Parodi carved Le Metamorfosi in marblewhich is in the Palazzo Reale in Genoa.
