A RARE VERTE-JAUNE TAPERING SQUARE-SECTION WINE BOTTLE

Painted on each side with a vertical ogival medallion with stylized leafy lotus stems on a mustard-yellow ground, all set against a yellow and green diamond-cell ground with scattered prunus blossom below a sloping lower shoulder painted with a dotted green ground with small flowerheads and with
ruyi heads at the corners, and further diamond cells and flowerheads and the flat upper shoulder below a waisted neck with plantain leaf lappets and flaring rim, the interior and the narrow edges of the vase white, the base flat unglazed with some burnt-orange areas.


7 3/4in (19.7cm) high

Two small chips to the neck rim edge with repair (1.5cm and 0.2cm). A small, infilled nibble to one side edge (0.5cm). Extremely finely painted and a well-spaced design. Rare. Recommended.
