Preview
There are several ways to preview the lots being offered for sale. We invite you to visit our Gallery during our published exhibition hours to examine lots in person and to discuss any questions with staff members. Printed catalogues containing descriptions and pre-sale estimates of each lot are available for purchase in advance of the sale.
Chelseaauctionsnyc.com provides full catalogue descriptions, thumbnail illustrations of most lots, pre-sale estimates and interactive tools for communicating questions or leaving online absentee bids. Since all lots are sold "as is", it is important to request a condition report prior to placing a bid.
Bidding
Prior to placing bids please be sure to read ourTerms and Conditions of Sale.
If you are a licensed dealer and wish to be tax exempt, please fill out a current New York Exemption Certificate and return it to the Business Office by fax: 646-559-4452.
Live Bidding
Attend the sale and participate live using an auction paddle to indicate your interest to the auctioneer. You are welcome to pick up a paddle at our Business Office at any point during the auction. If you are new to bidding with Chelsea Auctions, please note that a completedBidder Registration From is required.
Telephone Bids
Telephone bids can be placed by filling out our Telephone Bid Form and submitting it to our Bid Department by fax to 646-559-4452 or email to bid@chelseaauctionsnyc.com.
* If you do not have access to a fax machine, please send an email providing all the information requested on the bid form and state that you have read and agree to our terms and conditions of sale.

Please expect a call from the Bid Department to confirm your telephone bids once they have been entered into our system.
Absentee Bids: Absentee bids can be submitted one of two ways:
Through our Website: You will first need to Register. Online registration will conclude five hours prior to the start of the sale. Once your registration is completed, your email and password will be emailed to you and you are free to submit absentee bids on our website.
Absentee Bids left on our website must be entered two hours prior to the sale. The Bid Department will email a confirmation of your bids once they have been processed.
Bid Form: You are also welcome to submit a Bid Form to our Bid Department by fax to 646-559-4452, or email to Mail@chelseaauctionsnyc.com

Buyer's Premium
Except for property purchased on Live Auctions, a buyer's premium will be added to your successful bid at the rate of 18% on the first 20,000, 15 % between 20,001 and 500,000, and 13% thereafter. Be sure to factor in the buyer's premium when determining your maximum bid.
Payment
An invoice representing the total due of hammer plus buyer's premium and sales tax (if applicable) will be issued and is due within 5 days of the sale. Please disregard sales tax if you are shipping with a licensed shipper out of the state of New York. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, credit cards, personal, business, or cashier's checks payable in US dollars, and bank transfers. Lots purchased will not be released until funds have cleared the bank. Please find our Payment and Delivery policy fully outlinedhere.
Payments over $20,000 need to submitted by cash, wire transfer, or bank check. If a client submits a personal or business check we can't release the lots until the check cleared.
Removal of Purchases
Your purchases must be paid for and removed from Chelsea Auctions within ten (10) business days of the sale. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.Upon request, our staff will provide the list of shippers who deliver to destinations within the United States and overseas. Please note that prior to release of property, Chelsea Auctions Items not removed within ten (10) business days will be sent to a licensed warehouse at your expense.
