A SMALL BLUE AND WHITE SLENDER BALUSTER VASE AND COVER

Kangxi

Painted in subtle cobalt tones with two golden pheasants, one swooping down on an unsuspecting insect to one side, the other displaying its tail feathers and standing atop a rocky outcrop set between branches of peony and blossoming prunus, the rounded shoulder with a narrow chevron band below flowering branch sprays at the slightly tapering cylindrical neck, the cover with
ruyi lappets and a knop finial.


10 1/2in (26.7cm) high

Vase: A small oval glaze frit to one side and a few minor iron-spots.


Cover: Restoration to the rim and one side.
