A SMALL BLUE AND WHITE SOFT PASTE VASE

18th century

The ovoid body tapering at the shoulder to a short slightly waisted neck, the glaze with a fine but dense crackle, painted in rich deep cobalt blue tones with a large weeping willow and bamboo amidst craggy rockwork to one side and with two butterflies to the otherwise plain side.


5 1/4in. (13.3cm) high

Generally, in excellent overall condition. A few minute air bubble pinpricks but unobtrusive. A small frit to the interior foot rim with associated staining and a kiln paste line (1.5cm) but again mostly unobtrusive.
