A small Collection of Engravings
including The Story of Joash and Queen Athaliah (Holl. 29-32) by Harmen Jansz. Muller after Maerten van Heemskerck, the set of four engravings, circa 1576, first states (of two), with an indistinct watermark, with wide margins, generally in good condition; and four prints by Jan Harmensz. Muller: Chilon (Holl. 13), engraving, 1596, third, final state, trimmed to the subject, with a restored paper loss at the right sheet edge; Oreads removing a Thorn from a Satyr's Foot (Holl. 71), a later impression, and Hercules being shown the Mountainous Road to the Temple of Immortal Fame... (Holl. 72), engraving, circa 1591, both after Bartholomeus Spranger; The Rape of the Sabine Woman - View from behind and The Rape of the Sabine Woman - Frontal View (Holl. 77 & 78) after Adriaen de Vries, circa 1598, with the address of Dancker Danckerts, with wide margins, Holl. 78 with a horizontal central crease with associated tear in the margin, generally in good condition
