A SMALL VIBRANT VIOLET-BLUE-GLAZED PEAR-SHAPED VASE

18th century

Of heavy pear shape with steep sloping shoulders and tall waisted cylindrical neck with widely flaring rim, all under a wonderful dark violet-blue glaze with a high sheen, all supported on a short cylindrical foot with clear-glazed biscuit wedge-shaped foot ring and an orange-burnt unglazed concave base.


6in (15.2cm) high

Generally, in excellent overall condition. Some glaze scratches to surface but mostly unobtrusive. A most attractive vibrant rich violet blue glaze. Recommended.
