Lot 127: A Thomas Andersen Original Artwork – Acrylic on Canvas

This is one piece from the Thomas Andersen Collection, it is titled “Primeval landscape” and cost our vendor over $4,000 in 1987. Thomas Andersen was from Denmark when his family moved to Tasmania at the age of 7. After graduating high school he moved to London and got a position at the British Museum of Natural History. In his position he began painting and drawing specimans. He then moved on as an expedition artist for both the university of Denmark and the Tasmanian Museum. He held his first art exhibition in Copenhagen, and following this ended up exhibiting at 48 solo exhibitions of his work. He spent 40 years as a dedicated artist working mostly in Acrylics. Thomas Andersen died in 2007, and is works have steadily increased in Value. This piece is in mint condition.
