By Fabergé, with the workmaster's mark of Henrik Wigström, St Petersburg, 1899-1908, inscribed in ink with the inventory number 15563
Rectangular, the front cover applied with a conforming panel enamelled in translucent oyster over a wavy guilloché ground, within chased and engraved foliate mounts, with a holder containing a two-colour gold pencil with cabochon moonstone finial, the reverse with suspension chain, in the original wood case stamped in Russian 'K. Fabergé Moscow St. Petersburg, Odessa' with the Imperial warrant, marked on suspension ring
3 in. (7.4 cm.) high, excluding suspension chain
