Dr. William Wasey (died 1757), wearing grey coat over white waistcoat trimmed with gold and frilled white cravat, his hair curled and powdered.
Enamel (badly chipped), gilt-metal frame, the reverse of black leather.
Oval, 46mm (1 13/16in) high

Dr William Wasey was born in Norfolk and was a graduate of Caius College, Cambridge, and Leyden University. Elected President of the Royal College of Physicians, he also served as a physician at Westminster Hospital and St. George's Hospital. He died in April, 1757, at the age of sixty-two.
