Description

The artist is Albert J. Kramer (Albert John Kramer). Albert John Kramer was born in Ohio on May 7, 1908. Kramer was an interior decorator in Cleveland, Ohio in 1930. He lived in New York for a few years where he was a member of Associated American Artists. He sold his works through department stores and mail order. He later settled in Los Angeles and became active in the local art scene. He painted in a naïve or primitive style á la Grandma Moses to produce scenes of Americana, and signed his works with only his last name. He died in Los Angeles on November 4, 1991. Recently, it came to light, that Lucille and Desi Arnaz had a set of Kramer's paintings hung over their bed. They were gifted by their children to their personal manager who intends to will them to her relatives: "I have worked for the Arnaz family for more than two decades as their personal assistant and office manager (running their careers and the estates of their parents), and their children (Lucie and Desi IV) gave me these paintings as a gift. I have photos of the paintings in family photographs, and Lucie (daughter) also signed the backs saying they had hung in her parents' homes. I plan to hang them on mine and pass them down to my children. Thank you very much for your help!!" Elisabeth

Purchased items will be shipped on a first paid, first shipped basis and may take up to ten (10) business days for said shipment to leave our New Ideas Auction House. Bidders who pay within three (3) days of auction ending will receive expedited handling and packaging. For time sensitive shipments, we (New Ideas Auction House) will expedite payment processing and shipping for a nominal fee. All domestic mainland items are shipped via USPS ground or FedEx unless otherwise specified or requested by the customer. All international shipments are shipped via USPS Express Mail International, Priority Mail International, FedEx International or UPS Worldwide Express/Expedited (depending on the destination country rules and regulations regarding prohibited items and declared value). For items that are too large for in-house shipment, a gallery approved vendor will be provided for crate and freight services. For framed artwork, since we (New Ideas Auction House) sell the item based on being framed and matted prior to being consigned to the gallery, we (New Ideas Auction House) will not remove any item from the frame and/or matting, unless there is damage to a front glass panel prior to being sold.

You will need to sign for your item and all packages come insured.

Insurance: All items are insured for the full purchase amount unless a written email stating you assume all responsibilities is obtained.

PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE SITE AND ITS SERVICES. BY REGISTERING AND USING THE SERVICES OF THE SITE AS A BUYER, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT.

1) You will honor all bids placed in an auction, and are obligated to complete the transaction if you are the winning bidder. The winning bid is defined as the highest bid in an auction without a reserve. You acknowledge that by not fulfilling these obligations, your action or inaction may be legally actionable. If you have not paid after four days, your card on file may be charged, unless other payment arrangements have been made.

2) Buyer's Premium: A buyer's premium shall be added to each purchase to reach the total sales price. The buyer's premium for each sale is posted on the Auction detail page.

3) Total Sales Price: The total sales price of an item includes (1) the hammer price of the item (2) the buyer's premium (3) applicable sales and other taxes due on account of the sale, (4) packing, shipping transportation and insurance charges.
