NOTE

Born in Tel Aviv in 1944, Alex Levac studied philosophy and psychology at the Tel Aviv University and Photography at the London College of Printing in 1971. He received the Rita Poretzky Award for Photography from the Tel Aviv Museum in 1993; the Minister of Education and Culture Prize for Plastic Arts in 2003 and the Israel Prize for Photography in 2005. He worked as a press photographer for the daily newspaper "Hadashot" and in 1993 he joined the staff of the daily newspaper "Ha'aretz". In his photographs, Levac captures singular events from modern daily life in Israel in a unique angle unmasking human beings in their most common state as subjects of great interest.
