Alexander L. "Al" Kortner (American, 1905-1999; Active Florida) "The Fish Camp", watercolor on paper, sight 20-1/2" x 28", signed lower right "Kortner AMS" (for American Watercolor Society). Glazed, matted and presented in a carved and parcel-gilt oak frame. Provenance: Private Florida collection. Kortner, a lifelong member of the American Watercolor Society and the Allied Artists of America, was an illustrator for major American companies including Coca-Cola, Falstaff and Buster Brown Shoes, and magazines such as Life, Sports Afield, Saturday Evening Post and American Weekly.
