Description

Prignot for the engravings in his book: L’Architecture, la Decoration et L’Ameublement. Soixante compositions et dessins inedits par Eugene Prignot, Paris, 1878, pencil on paper, each sight 16-1/2" x 9-1/2", each monogrammed and one dated 1873. Framed en suite. Reference: Bénézit. Prignot received a ‘medaille d’or at the Exposition Universelle, Paris, 1867, and a ‘medaille de progres’ at Vienna in 1873 for his furniture. The book was dedicated to Sir Richard Wallace, Bt. (1819-1890), heir to the collection of the 4th Marquess of Hertford, his father. Two drawings from this series are in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt Museum, New York.
