The remains of a piece of canvas, probably from the edge of the original canvas, is attached verso. What appears to be a transcription thereon reads as follows:Fairlee Pond, Vt [sic] was renamed Lake Morey in memory of Samuel Morey, 1762 - 1843, of Oxford, N.H. [sic], inventor of internal combustion engine, 1826. (Fairlee, Vt. [sic] is across the Connecticut River.)
