Born in Mexico City in 1938, Alfredo Castañeda began studying painting at theage of twelve. His surrealist paintings have been shown in many individual exhibitions, the first of which was held in Mexico City in 1969. The Museo de Arte Moderno de la Ciudad de México organized an exhibition of his works in 1972. Since thatyear, Alfredo Castañeda has had many one-man shows in both Mexico and the United States. In 1989 the Museo de Monterrey in Mexico honored the artist with a retrospective exhibition. Measures 30 ½ " x 30 ½ " it is signed Castaneda on lower rightand dated 78. Condition very good.
