Lot 110: Alimondo Ciampi, Italian (1876-1839) A bronze model of a rabbit

with young, signed Ciampi Alimondo, and dated ,1928, 59cm wide, 36cm high (23" wide, 14" high)

Born in Signa, in Tuscany from very humble beginnings, Ciampi was one of eighteen children. He initially worked as a mason locally and then moved to Florence to work in Antonio Bortone's studio. His works can be seen in the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome. He became an honourary member of the Academy of Arts in Florence and exhibited works at the Turin Fair of 1908 and the Rome Fair in 1921
